North Perth council is showing some support for the municipalities Façade Design Concept.

This began back in December last year when the municipality purchased the 104 Wallace Avenue North property, the former Scotiabank in town and the opportunity to continue downtown beautification.

In a report its noted downtown and public space beautification are among the keys in workforce attraction and retention.

With the rich history North Perth has from agriculture to service in World War I and II, Kimberly Kowch, Economic Development Officer says they wanted to keep it simple at the location.

“For the space to be attractive but also not too much of a distraction as well and that’s one reason why we didn’t want to include things like faces or individuals that we may have had as an option.” said Kowch.

Council has voted to direct staff to pursue the implementation of the proposed design.
