North Perth has agreed to extend the Lonely No More Program for another year as the pilot program is expected to expire in June.

Lonely No More provides a weekly call between isolated seniors with trained community members.

The program is run with volunteers as community members who are first trained and learn more about peer support, coaching and system navigation.

North Perth will enter into a partnership agreement with Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health to provide on-going support for the program from June 1st 2021-May 31st 2022 at a cost of $22,850 + HST

The program was first launched in 2018 in Huron County to provide free weekly phone based programs for targeted at rural isolated seniors.
