As expected, North Perth council has denied the request for funding from North Huron for use of the recreational facilities.
Manager of Programs, Jeff Newell says in some cases for facilities, a non-resident fee is charged to those who are outside the municipality which was practice stopped by North Huron.
Newell adds, if council were to approve the funding it could also come back in later years.
“It would be anticipated a request similar to that would be made in future years. If council denies the request there would be no financial implications in this scenario” said Newell.
While not included in the report, Newell says it could be assumed 5 other municipalities received the request from North Huron and none have supported it.
