North Perth council discussed a range of topics during their recent council meeting.

Among them was the discussion of reducing certain fees with organized sports. Sporting could return come in later in the summer and for the fall. Manager of Facilities, Jeff Newell says the reduction cost is in hopes to encourage more to register.

“We’re anticipating registrations will be low when compared to 2019 registration numbers. As a result we’re trying to encourage participation in sports by reducing the fees’ said Newell

Newell adding they are also looking into reducing more than just minor sports costs

“Since this report was written we’ve had a request come in from adult co-ed soccer to adjust their fees. They would normally pay $232 plus HST for a season.”

Councilor Neil Anstett, while in favour of the idea proposed council to wait until it can be confirmed organized sports would return to North Perth, which council agreed to vote on.
