During a recent council meeting, North Perth council heard from Parry Blancke, Chair for Headwaters Delta Waterfowl Chapter.
The group has been using municipal storm water management ponds to install nesting houses for increasing mallard breeding. Blancke says previous nesting has seen good success.
“Very successful nesting for these ducks. The 8 that we checked out this past season, 6 were used and successful, 2 were unused. About 12-14 new ducklings into the population.” said Blancke
Council very much supported the continued work from Blancke passing the vote for continued work for duck nesting projects.
