There is no change in the unemployment rate in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula economic region.

According to the Four County Labour Market Planning Board, the unemployment rate in February was at 4.6 percent, the same as in Janaury.

The Provincial unemployment rate also held steady at 6.1 percent.

There was 700 more net job created in the region with part-time work (1,200) making up most of the gains offsetting full-time losses (-500).

The planning board says there were 700 jobs gained in the goods-producing sector with agriculture (700) and construction (900) leading the way.

The service-producing sector saw little change but there were around 2,000 job losses in health care and social assistance.
