It’s a new partnership between North Perth Fire Chief Janny Pape and the North Perth Public Library.
Chief Pape visited the Listowel branch on Wednesday who spoke with kids in the filled library discussing all about her role with the department, women empowerment as well as her campaign with the library with a series of donated books around topics of inclusion or empowerment and available for loan at each of the three branches.
Chief Pape says sharing the message to youth that you’re able to do anything is one important for her to get out.
“There is room for everyone. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about a profession or having a place in the community, everyone is welcome, there is a place in the community.” said Pape.
Pape has started off this initiative with 10 books donated and will donate 5 more books each year until her retirement.
