Natural Gas Connections Arriving in Brunner

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae was joined alongside Energy Minister Todd Smith and Perth East Mayor Rhonda Ehgoetz and Enbridge Gas to mark the first natural gas connections in Brunner.

Ontario is expanding access to natural gas throughout rural, northern Ontario and Indigenous communities which includes Perth East and a project done by Enbridge Gas.

Rae saying in a release he is very excited about the long term benefits on the new infrastructure and the economic opportunities it will bring to the community of Brunner.

Construction is underway on a new natural gas pipeline which will bring reliable and affordable energy to customers in Brunner.

Through Phase 1 and 2 of Ontario’s Natural Gas Expansion Program, more than $360 million was allocated to expand access to families and businesses in 59 communities across the province.

Due to overwhelming demand from communities, businesses and municipal councils, Ontario will begin consulting this fall on how to best deliver Phase 3 of the program.

Minister Smith says this move will save the average household up to 60 per cent in energy costs a year as they make the switch with businesses saving up to 30 per cent.
