April 28th marks National Day of Mourning.

A day of remembrance and mourning for those killed, injured or fallen ill while on the job.

The day also helps encourage employers, employees as well as heath and safety partners to continue working towards prevention on work related deaths and injuries which occur every year.

On any given workday in Canada, three people will die, face a life altering injury of suffer a workplace related illness while on the job.

The Canadian Labour Congress first declared the day in 1984 and today is honoured by more than 100 countries.
