The MRI at the Palmerston & District Hospital is now up and running with it officially opened on Friday.
In May this year the fundraising total of $8 million was reached after a matching gift from Scotiabank to the tune of $75,000 building on the success of the community rallying funds for the hospital.
The goal was set to help fund the MRI but also to complete needed renovations at the hospital for the machine.
The hospital says this milestone couldn’t be possible without the support of the foundation board, staff, donours and community partners.
This MRI will help strengthen rural health care and help patients access fast, accurate imaging closer to home and serve the community for many years to come.
