Mount Forest Residents Raise Concerns on Townhouse Development

In a continued growing community, Mount Forest could soon see the expansion of an 18 townhouse development make its way, though it is gaining some ire from residents.

The proposed development would see 18 townhouses at 425 and 427 King Street East in town.

Resident raised some concerns such as Rachel Kery who while not opposed to new residents adds the 18 unit would be clustered and add to the problem of continued townhouses in clustered areas.

“It was hard enough seeing the units go up on Wellington and now over 20 are being built at the end of Newfoundland Street. I understand we want the town to grow but I don’t understand why it all has to be in this particular neighbourhood.” said Kery.

The developers, McTrach Capital and 427 Management Service Inc. say they will be as open as possible throughout the process for residents making themselves available to chat.

Some developers intend to live in the new units who add they would not add in anything they themselves would not want to live in or around.
