The Mount Forest Lions Club has pledged $250,000 towards the new Mount Forest Outdoor Pool.
Lion Vern Job says the Lions who built the first pool in Mount Forest in 1948 made note the Lions believe making the community a better place and Mount Forest is a better place with an outdoor pool.
The new pool located on Princess Street beside the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex will come at a cost of $5.3 million backed by a community fundraising goal of $2.5 million.
Once 80 per cent of fundraising target has been reached next steps will begin in construction of the new outdoor pool.
