A Mount Forest apartment project is still going forward despite some opposition from some residents.
Concerns have been raised from eight residents and neighbouring property owners back in August on changes to a site plan for an apartment building on 773 Princess Street in Mount Forest.
The township received an application to amend a zoning bylaw for the 1.6 acre property to allow for construction of a two-storey apartment building geared towards seniors which would offer 32 units.
Residents voiced their concerns regarding building height, snow storage, parking and impacts of traffic.
Revisions were taken into consideration such as setback requirements on an east side yard.
Mayor Andy Lennox says he understands residents concerns but adds the big issue is affordability of housing, prompting council to continue forward with the project.
