With more heavy amounts of showers on the way, the Perth East & West Perth Fire Department says this is a good time to check your sump pump.
With warmer temperatures continuing with snow melt and as much as 20-40mm of showers expected the fire department says its good to make sure your sump pump is still kicking to keep your basement dry.
The fire department says a good way to test this is by pouring a bucket of water down the pit and make sure it turns on and pumps, clear away ice, snow and debris from your eavestrough and downspouts and direct water away from your house, keeping at least 6 feet away from the foundation.
