The Town of Minto has issued an advisory ahead of the holiday weekend.
With fireworks expected to be setoff Minto wants to make aware to everyone that fireworks are a completely foreign experience for pets.
The sounds come without warning and can be frightening.
They offer a few tips to make it a better experience for your furry one.
- Keep pets away from fireworks and best is likely indoors.
- Create a safe place for them such as under the bed or a room without windows.
- Safeguard your pets with collars and ID tags in the event they escape having a way to identify them is important
- Lastly they say ask your vet for help as they may have techniques that can help your pet cope with the loud noises of fireworks
