Minto and Mapleton will be sharing a bylaw enforcement officer.
On June 20th Minto council passed a bylaw to have Hendrick Hobbelink as the officer, who will enforce bylaws, property standards and a peace officer.
Certain details still need to figured out but salary and schedule will be split between both Mapleton and Minto with Mapleton providing any office space and work equipment and Minto will share equipment costs.
Mapleton will provide a work vehicle with Minto contributing via mileage charges.
Director of Building and Planning Services Terry Kuipers says bylaw calls have increased in Minto saying people are becoming less tolerant with their neighbours as well as neighbouring properties with keeping tidy.
