A plan for protecting infrastructure from the effects of climate change could take part in Minto’s long term solution for climate change.
The plan dubbed “Future Focused” was endorsed from Wellington County council on February 26th.
Wellington County Climate Change Coordinator, Karen Chisholme says they have plans on things such as electric car adaptation but currently only for light duty.
“The focus, practically in the short term is to transition into electric vehicles. This is really focusing on light duty as we don’t have clear solutions yet for diesel or heavy machinery” said Chisholme
Chisholme adding Part of the county’s climate plan includes supporting a water quality program and the Green Legacy tree planting program who already do great work for climate change.
