The Optimist Club of Mornington has received a grant of $40,000 which is being used to support the Milverton All Wheels Project.
The grant is part of the Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group’s new L.E.A.F (Learning Engagement & Accelerator Fund) which invited groups in Eastern, Central and Western Ontario to apply for grants with a focus on learning and building skills for local communities.
The All Wheels Park Project is a planed park at the Perth East Recreation Complex for anyone to use and enjoy their bikes, scooters, skateboards and more providing not only recreation but promote mental health and have a place to gather.
In a release, Tricia Holmes Storey, Milverton All Wheels Park Committee Member and Mornington Optimist says they are hugely excited to receive the grant of $40,000 to put towards the project.
Storey also gives thanks to Zehr Insurance in Milverton and Van Allen Insurance in Listowel of telling them of the grant opportunity and the support for the application.
