Midwestern Ontario Faces Major Storm

Midwestern Ontario faced a major storm last night which saw various amounts of damage and power outages.

Wellington North was mostly subjected to heavy winds and heavy rainfall causing debris across roadways and downed trees and power lines and transformers.

Hydro One says nearly 10,000 customers across Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce and Wellington County’s are still without power. Hydro One also warns it could be until 6pm until power is restored.

Hydro lines were down in Harriston with firefighters directing traffic away from Union, King, William and George Street.

The effects were heavily seen in Bruce and Grey county with golf ball sized hail in certain areas with Lucknow facing a storm which swept across the town.

A video shared online shows significant damage done to barn in the town.

Tornado warnings across the region did not last long but a thunderstorm warning had remained in effect over the night.
