Microsoft Windows Outage Hits Banks, Emergency Services and Airlines

A tech outage has swept across the globe and has knocked out a series of banks, media companies and emergency services while forcing airlines to ground their flights and affecting locally.

Cybersecurity software company CrowdStrike says outages for millions of Microsoft Windows users has hit worldwide which has been listed as not a security incident or cyberattack.

The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance has been affected by this outage with their systems but patient care remains unaffected.

The outage is affecting their ability to access electronic records and utilize certain digital services.

Airlines such as Delta, United and American Airlines have had to halt departures due to the issue.

Windows computers and tablets have crashed across the world with forced restarts of the devices with many not being able to restart and instead showing the “blue screen of death.”

Affected users could be back up later in the day but others it could take weeks depending on the system used.
