Huron-Perth Public Health says there has been a community exposure of measles in Stratford.

The exposure occurred at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday between 11:30am-2pm.

Public health says if you were present at the location during this time, were born in 1970 or later and not up to date with your measles vaccination to call public health.

This includes those who were only at the hospital briefly as measles is highly contagious and can linger in the air for up to two hours.

Measles symptoms can start in 7-21 days with symptoms including fever, cough, red eyes, white spots appearing on the face and spreading throughout the body and a red blotchy rash appearing on the face and then down the body.
