MPP for Perth-Wellington Matthew Rae is set to present his private members bill later today.
Known as Bill 141, the Life Lease Act will go to the Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy.
With a life lease, a buyer purchases an interest on a property and gives them the right to occupy it over a long period of time.
Rae says the bill will be to solidify and clarify some responsibilities of operators and residents.
Rae adds he wants to make sure people such as seniors aren’t taken advantage of who often live in these properties.
