Masking in clinical areas has returned to the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance.
Masking will now be required when in any clinical area of the hospitals HPHA operates and will be recommended but not required in non clinical areas.
This comes ahead of the respiratory season in anticipation of increased spread of influenza, RSV and COVID-19.
Hospital medical grade masks will be provided with masking stations set up throughout hospital sites.
Erica Jensen, Manager of Quality, Patient Safety and Infection Control says Ontario is seeing an early start to the respiratory season and in response the decision was made to help keep patients and team members safe.
