A popular concession stand at the Perth East Recreation Centre is going mobile with the launch of the Marchello’s Food Truck this weekend.
Marchello’s all started in 2022 operated by Marcello and Dianna Lara who ran the concession at the rec centre offering up a bit of a step up from typical arena concession items such as fresh pasta, chicken parm, lasagna and cannoli and tiramisu.
Dianne Lara says with their launch on Saturday, all cash tips will be donated to a local organization, Sunshine Beanies.
“It was all started by a child and her mother, the child herself is going through cancer and chemo and radiation and they spawned this company as a result of some of the treatment the daughter had to undergo.” said Lara.
To help celebrate the launch, the food truck will be parked at the Milverton Legion running from 12-8pm with a welcoming ceremony by the Mayor and council at 3pm.
