Mapleton council has endorsed a staff report which has the township make updates to its work culture by enhancing benefits and working conditions in hopes to attract and keep employees.
Mapleton CAO Manny Baron spoke to council saying they cannot afford to lose anymore staff as many have left for jobs in other regions in the past few months.
Some proposed changes includes reviewing vacation entitlement, increasing personal days allowed allowing staff to work from home to do so more than once a week.
Some councilors said they were glad to see the solution wasn’t to just throw more money at employees, saying this would not work.
