Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson has been acclaimed as mayor and is set for another term.
Davidson who says it’s been great to be back in full swing over the summer with events such as car shows and the recent fair he also adds much needs to be tackled within Mapleton.
Davidson says among them is supporting families with things such as a childcare centre and supporting entrepreneurs.
“We still need to have a childcare centre within our community, we don’t have a licensed childcare facility and retail spaces. We have all kinds of groups and entrepreneurs who want to open up a retail space and we don’t have any. We need to develop downtown again and relook at what we’re doing with it.” said Davidson.
Davidson adds population growth is the biggest thing to look towards which he says they’ve begun already with things such as the new water tower and looks forward to continuing the process.
“I’m looking forward to being the mayor for the next 4 years, I’ve worked really hard the last 4 and will continue to work for the community. I look forward to talking with members of the community and looking what they want.”
