The cost of paying council in Mapleton for certain costs is down over $12,00 when seen from numbers last year.
The total cost for pay and expenses was set at $94,794 for 2021, down from the $107,126 in 2020.
Per diem pay for councilors only amounted to $2760 in 2021, down from $5940 a year prior.
Lower costs for the year mainly fell on pandemic restrictions limiting travel and a lack of gatherings from council who instead opted to meet virtually.
Registration fees were also part of the drop in costs for 2021.
