Mapleton council is considering a bylaw to rezone nearly a 5 acre parcel of land to allow the construction of a new 26,000 square foot facility for the sale and manufacturing of farm equipment.
A meeting was held of April 13th on the proposal on Wellington Road 9 from agricultural to agricultural commercial.
The current issue is there is an existing residence 240 feet from the proposed location. Mapleton zoning bylaw requires agricultural commercial operations to be at least 400 feet from the nearest residence.
No member of the public spoke at the meeting with Clerk Larry Wheeler noting no negative comments were received from the Grand River Conservation Authority, Wellington Source Water Protection or neighbouring residents in advance to the meeting.
