The Township of Mapleton has approved the 2022 budget. Next year will see a 1.64% increase in the overall municipal tax rate.
While this year will see an increase of $7.64 per $100,000 of assessment, council has worked over the past 3 years to work on an overall decrease to $2.69 per $100,000 assessment.
Various projects in the budget for next year include the completion and operation of the new Drayton water tower, upgrading the water well supply capacity and upgrades to the wastewater pumping station.
A total of $2.6 million will also be seen in road improvements.
