Mapleton is set to share a climate change coordinator with Centre Wellington for a year.
The municipality will be dishing out nearly $50,000 for the move with the coordinator aimed to get environmental data, look into climate change scenarios and how to reduce energy consumption, conserve water and promote sustainable practices.
Centre Wellington will cover $61,000 of the bill with Mapleton putting out $48,000. The position was part of both township’s budget.
