Mapleton Township is adopting a group benefit package for its council members.
$28,750 has been set for the health benefits for members of council in the 2025 budget.
The plan comes with the same health, travel and dental coverage as an active employee with premiums at the same rates incurred for any other active employee.
The benefit coverage is mandatory with an opt out option only available if a member has comparable benefits through a spouse or from a previous employer in retirement benefits.
