Man with Axe Causes Significant Damage to Vehicle

 

A 47 year old who caused significant damage to a parked vehicle with an axe is facing multiple charges.

On May 11th at around 7:30am, Wellington and Perth County OPP officers responded to the incident of a person striking a parked vehicle with an axe on Wellington Road 86.

The person fled the area in a passenger vehicle but was later located and stopped by police and arrested.

Police found a large amount of property which OPP say the person had broken into two businesses on Wellington Road 86.

As a result the 47 year from Waterloo faces multiple charges including Mischief Under $5000, Theft Over $5000, Dangerous Driving, Possession of a Schedule I substance and two counts of break and enter.

The accused was held in custody.
