In a sign that thieves are getting brazen in their theft of goods in Southwestern Ontario, London has seen four transports and seven trailers packed with hundreds of thousands of dollars of goods stolen during just a three day stretch during the holiday period.
The thefts happened in Woodstock and St. Thomas and it shows as a sign that the holidays around Christmas turned out to be among the worse for Crime that is costing the industry billions of dollars per year.
The fact that the goods were sitting just waiting was likely caused by a push by companies to get products to store shelves leading up to the holidays, drivers heading home for the holidays and it created the perfect storm of goods prime for the taking.
The incidents in Woodstock and St. Thomas came just two days after 4 suspects used another transport to take away a container full of scrap aluminum and vehicle rims from also in Woodstock.
The two incidents happened back to back with the thieves leaving and coming back for seconds.
No arrests have been made in either case.
