For 6 local women this past Saturday, the goal to set a Guinness World Record for most burpees preformed over the course of 12 hours was much more than setting the record.
Ashley Crabb, Katie Battams-Somers, Angelika Veens, Corrie Boer and Alison Brown took part in the challenge at New U Personal Training Studio in Listowel.
The record was also in honour of the late Matt Ottens. Ottens lost his life in an incident at Conestogo Lake back in June. Leona Ottens. Matts wife also took part in the challenge.
The goal of 10,000 burpees was reached with a total of 10,034 done.
