The recipients fo the 2021 Schulich Leaders Scholarships were announced today.
The award is Canada’s most prestigious STEM scholarship.
The successful candidates were chosen out of a pool of 350,000 then a list of 1400 nominees.
Local recipients include Louise Turner from Fergus who is attending Queen’s University and Daniel Weppler of Harriston, Ontario who is attending Western University.
Recipients receive $100,000 if pursuing an engineering degree or $80,000 if pursuing science, technology or mathematics at 20 Canadian partner universities.
