Local Service Agencies Receive $2.7 Million

$2.7 million in helping the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless

 

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece announced today the relief funding of $2.7 million from the Ontario Government for local service agencies.

This funding is help the most vulnerable such as homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless. Wellington County will see just under 2 million of the funding while Stratford, which manages agencies in Perth County will receive $721,621.

“COVID-19 has significantly increased demand for services in Perth-Wellington.” Pettapiece said. “Poverty and homelessness are not limited to big cities, it’s an issue across rural and urban parts of our province.”

This is the 2nd phase of relief funding being provided. In April, Pettapiece announced over $2.2 million in funding through the first phase of the province’s Social Services Relief Fund.
