The Listowel Salvation Army continues to appeal for food donations for anyone who is able to give.

Given the rising cost of living, the Salvation Army has seen a decline in goods being dropped off and the struggle continues to try to keep the shelves at the food bank stocked.

The Salvation Army sees around 390-430 people per month to serve with around 47 per cent of those visiting have kids in their household.

Carolyn Saunders with the Salvation Army says the support they do receive is always great to see, including when it comes to residents providing fresh local produce and meat.

“We have a lovely lady who drops off chickens fresh so we freeze them and get them ready to go. They are extremely fresh they were like processed that morning so people are getting really high quality fruits and vegetables and meat product when we have it.’ Saunders

The Listowel Salvation Army every month posts a top 10 most in need items for donation which this time around includes canned fruits, canned meat, baked beans and kids school snacks.
