Listowel Memorial Hospital Flood Update

Restoration of the hospital could take weeks

The majority of the water that caused flooding at the Listowel Memorial Hospital has been removed but the damage still lingers as restoration plans begin.

The plan is to move the emergency room to the ambulatory care space starting Wednesday. The hospital is open for emergencies and urgent care. The COVID-19 testing centre will be moved to the basement of the Outpatient building today.

Visitors are asked to delay their visits until further notice. Space is limited and wait times are expected to be long.

Engineers, restoration experts and insurance adjusters are all on site assessing the damage. Restoration is estimated to take weeks, there is no damage to the roof of structural integrity of the building.
