Listowel Hospital repairs ongoing since October flood

Recent outbreak at hospital didn't delay repairs

The Listowel Hospital is still in the process of repairing the damage done by a flood to the hospital in October. The cause of the flood was a burst water main under the floor that put nearly all of the ground floor of the hospital underwater.

The work on department such as the Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care Space have been completed but thing such as work in diagnostic imaging, front entrance and the older section of the hospital still have some work to be done.

The timeline for those remaining elements is expected by the end of March or early April.

The Covid-19 outbreak at the hospital recently didn’t impact the timeline for the repair work.

Staff have been dealing with the loss of space due to flood as a result of the repair work.
