The annual Listowel Fair is getting into full gear which makes its return next weekend.
The fair all officially starts the Thursday before the weekend of July 13th with the crowning of the fair ambassador as well as the parade through town.
Elizabeth Johnston, President of the Listowel Agricultural Society says given the construction this summer on Elma, there is a new route for the parade taking shape.
“The parade route will start Memorial Park, goes up Elizabeth Street past the hospital, down Wallace and then up Main Street and makes it way to the fairgrounds. We’re looking forward to a great parade” said Johnston.
The parade will be followed by fireworks at the grounds weather depending and should it get called off due to weather, a rain date is set on Sunday night on July 16th.
Different things are planned as usual for the weekend with a truck pull, seniors day, kids day and an FMX Freestyle Motocross Show.
The 167th Listowel Fair runs from July 13th-16th at the fairgrounds which since its inception has hosted an educational and agricultural fair providing entertainment in a family friendly environment for the entire community to enjoy.
