Wellington County residents are invited to provide their input until March 8th on proposed changes to the draft updated Grand River Source Protection Plan.

Martin Keller, Manager for the Source Protection Plan says the importance of the protection plan goes back to a tragedy not too far from home.

“The Walkerton tragedy in 2000. This is the response, the provincial response. To protect municipal drinking water. Both current and future sources and we’re looking at quality as well as quantity to protect those sources.” said Keller.

Residents can fill out a comment sheet and mail it to the attached address on the sheet.
