The Four County Labour Market Planning Board released their July Report on Friday and it shows that the unemployment rate for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region increased by 0.3 percent to 4.3% and it is now tied for the third lowers in Ontario with Kingston-Pembroke.
The overall unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 5.5% both unadjusted for seasonality.
Overall the region saw net employment increase by 2900 positions with full time gains of 6500 offsetting part time losses of 3600.
Goods producing sectors spearheaded the increases with areas of construction at 1300 and agriculture at 700 offsetting utility job losses of 900.
