Progress at the John Bell diamond is shaping up well for the summer.
Work has been on for the last while for light standard replacements to ensure the diamond can stay bright for evening games which could see a return in the next phase of Ontario’s reopening.
Twelve new light standards with high efficiency bulbs will be in place to service both the North and South ball diamonds.
North Perth council approved the replacement at an estimated cost of $210,000.
With the lighting and restrictions easing overtime, its likely minor baseball and soccer could see a good pickup into the summer.
