Jessica and Brad Cowan have been named as the 2024 PitchIt! Minto Business Competition winners.
Jessica and Brad who run Brass Ridge Acres in Harriston cut flowers at a small scale during the harvest season and offer flower bundles for pickup and delivery who applied after demand outpaced their supply with hopes to expand going from just a flower garden to a 2 acre field.
Director of Economic & Community Development, Belinda Wick Graham says they revamped the competition to move away from the traditional business plan and used the Business Model Canvas which allowed participants to learn all elements of a business plan.
A list of finalists named also will receive a pool of prizing which can be used to fit the needs of their business. Over $28,500 in cash and prizes has been awarded to the 10 finalists.
