Impaired driver involved in Serious Collision in Minto

Driver of SUV deemed to be impaired by alcohol at 1:30 in afternoon

On April 29th at approximately 1:30pm, Wellington County OPP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Wellington road 109 near Beehive Lane in the Town of Minto involving a northbound SUV and southbound pickup.

Police spoke with the driver of the SUV and determined their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and they were placed under arrest. The driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

On June 6th officers concluded their investigation and as a result charged a 30 year old male of Rothsay with impaired operation and impaired operation blood alcohol 80 plus.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
