Impaired Driver arrested near Centre Wellington OPP Detachment

Driver was found to be driving while impaired by drug and possession of a schedule 1 substance

On February 9th at approximately 12:30am the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a white passenger vehicle that was stuck in a ditch on Wellington Road 18 in Aboyne.

Police attended and while speaking with the driver, formed the opinion that they were impaired by drugs. The driver was arrested and transported to the local OPP detachment for further testing.

A 29 year old male resident of Kitchener has been charged with driving while impaired by drug and possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance.

A 90 day administrative driver’s license suspension and a 7 day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on February 23rd.
