On Saturday, August 14 at 5 am the Stratford Police were contacted regarding a possible impaired driver in the drive thru lane at the Tim Horton’s in St. Marys.
Police were contact by the staff after the driver drove over the curb in the drive thru and wedged the vehicle against the speaker.
Police attended and located the driver who was later identified as a 17 year old female. The driver provided a false name and date of birth resulted in her being arrested for impaired driving and obstructing police.
The youth was transported to Police Headquarters in Stratford where she became aggressive with the female officer engaged with her, subsequently assaulting her. The officer was able to restrain the youth without injury to either party and prevented any further problems from occurring.
The female youth has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, impaired operation of a vehicle, obstructing police and assaulting police.
She was released and faces an appearance in a Stratford court on September 2, 2021.
