Impaired driver arrested at Listowel Park

Police investigated reports of an impaired driver at the Park

 

On April 26th just after 7pm the Perth County OPP were notified of a possible impaired driver in the area of Listowel Memorial Park. Police located the driver, who was showing signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the local OPP detachment where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted a series of tested, and the driver was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

As a result a 59 year old male of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with operation while impaired alcohol and drugs.

A 90 day driving suspension and 7 day vehicle impoundment were initiated. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
