A North Perth resident was arrested earlier this month and while in custody, assaulted an officer.
On December 7th just after 5pm Perth County OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in Listowel.
Officers located the driver on Maitland Avenue North and determined they were impaired.
The driver was arrested and taken in for further testing when they then assaulted a police officer.
The 48 year old North Perth resident has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Failure to Refuse or Comply with a Demand and Assaulting a Police Officer.
Their license was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 30 days. The accused will appear in Stratford court at a later date.
