As many in the province continue to stay home under lockdown, The Ontario government has extended the fixed hydro rates into next month.
The fixed rate was brought back amidst the 2nd wave of the pandemic, taking effect January 1st. The rate applies to residential, small businesses and farm customers who buy their electricity from their utility and applies on Time of Use or Tiered pricing.
Time of Use and Tiered Price plan customers will continue be charged the off-peak flat rate of 8.5 cents per kilowatt for 24 hours, everyday until February 9th.
